Located in Dutzoe, this simple concrete arch bridge crosses Lake Creek.
Built in 1918 to replace a previous trestle, the bridge consists of a pair of concrete arch spans. Several concrete arch bridges exist along the Katy Trail, although most are not easily in view.
This style of bridge was common for railroads as it could be constructed while the railroad continued operations above. Unfortunately, this bridge is extremely overgrown, making good photos difficult.
Overall, the bridge appears to be in fair to good condition, with some scouring noted on the structure.
The author has ranked the bridge as being locally significant because of the newer age, and common design. Unfortunately, the author is not pleased with his photos of the structure and is striving to be back for more soon.
The photo above is looking west along the bridge. It is located right next to MO-94.
